Kingi School “Heat treated & Ghost tint Green” on our D canvas
Using 22 of our popular king fish designed fish, We made this school on request. 50/50 split of colour between our Heat treated style with a small flame 🔥 and airbrushed with ghost tint paint.
This one has come out looking really good.
Our “Kingis” are 290mm size.
All cut from 316 marine grade stainless steel ground, rolled, heated & airbrush painted to bring them to life. On the backing plate you can see how we grind it to look like the water flowing over-around-through-with the fish. It also creates depth and motion drawing your eyes in for a closer look. When heating We use our darker colour range along the top of the body/fillet and the middle of the tail. Then the bottom 3 fins are coloured gold, this somehow seems to give the fish more depth to look at. The larger part of the body is left silver which lets the grinding flow come out on display. We use a small flame and lots of patients , this helps us with the control of applying the colour to exactly where we want it. It can be very easy for the colour to bleed out into the rest of the fish. And when painting with our airbrush, We take our time and get the layering just right so the colours fold in together which creates a seamless flow. Lots of added detail across the mid body. Using translucent paint allows you to still see the grinding flow we achieve. We've been told that the shape of the school represents a dolphin or fish, same have even commented a sting ray can be seen. Heat treated fish include paua shell pieces for eyes. This really adds another layer of colour and sparkle. This piece will cover any spot you have in mind to install on. All pieces are very unique being all hand crafted no two schools are ever the same ……… . Easy to install with a stainless chain on the back, also makes it easy to change the angle/direction of the school once mounted on your wall.
